Website Privacy

Effective 28 October 2026 · Last updated 31 October 2026

This page covers the groundcontrolto website at www.groundcontrolto.com. It explains what we learn when you visit, and why.

Google Analytics runs only on the groundcontrolto home page and this page. The Lightline pages (/lightline/) and the Dotline pages (/dotline/) do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics.

Our apps have their own privacy policies, which cover what happens inside each app: Lightline and Dotline. Nothing on this page changes them. The website and the apps are separate: visiting the website tells the apps nothing, and the apps send nothing to the website.

Who we are

groundcontrolto is Chew Wen Kang, an independent app developer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. You can reach us at [email protected].

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, how they found us and which pages they read, so we can tell what is working. When you load one of those pages, Google Analytics records:

To tell a returning visit from a new one, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_DCZCVKFMK1). We see this information only as statistics. We do not use it to identify you, we have not turned on Google’s advertising features, and we have not opted in to sharing this data with Google for its own products.

Google processes this data for us as a service provider. You can read how Google handles it at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Cloudflare

The whole website, including the Lightline and Dotline pages, is delivered through Cloudflare, which protects it from attacks and makes it load faster. To do that, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details, and may set a short-lived cookie used only for security.

Email

If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message, and we use them only to reply. We keep the conversation for up to 12 months after it is resolved, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

How long we keep website data

Google Analytics keeps visit-level data for 2 months and then deletes it. Totals that no longer relate to any one visitor, such as monthly page views, are kept.

Where data is processed

Google and Cloudflare run servers around the world, so website data may be processed outside Malaysia, including in the United States.
